They are not open sundays.
They have a full menu of Japanese food options. Way more than just sushi.
Sushi = sake. No cocktails
I had dinner at this restaurant last week. I love their sushi, it’s authentic. The fried oysters are also delicious. An added bonus is the price is right.
Delicious Japanese cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. Prices are pretty affordable too. This place has unique tables that imitate traditional Japanese seating! Absolutely delicious.
Hidden little gem! Great Great Great Service and Sushi!
Great food! Good service.
I love variety so the lunch special with the chef's choice of sushi was perfect with a dozen pieces plus miso very filling. Only complaint is their music selection but that's true of most places at least in my opinion. 😉
Some of the best (maybe the very best) sushi I've ever had! Always delicious. Although it's not cheap, it's not expensive and you definitely get what you pay for. I highly recommend this place for any sushi connoisseur
Affordable and yummy sushi...my go to spot for SE sushi and very nice staff.
Very good sushi! Very awesome vibes! Its true there may be a wait, but its also true that it is worth the wait. Fair pricing and great portions. I will be going again!! I cant remember exactly what i got but it was all very good.
Clean location, good parking, nice staff great fresh food with a wide variety to choose from.
My favorite sushi spot in town! Never had a bad roll. Fresh ingredients and never over powered with sauces.
I've been coming here for the past 3 years and it's one of the best sushi places in Oregon. I've eaten at so many other sushi joints and Meekas is definitely my favorite. Best prices, sushi is bomb and service is always great. 10/10
Went here for my birthday totally worth it. If you want a more traditional table, you might have to ask for it. However, damn good sushi too.
What a hidden gem. Great service...great food...very fresh and tasty. The prices are fantastic. What would cost me $80 in downtown Portland was $40 here. I will be back. My new favorite sushi place
Decent sushi, bit pricey. Good enough if that's what's in your neighborhood.
Fresh fish with quality above all.
Very kindness and nice and clean good..
This place has been here for something over 20 years now. There's good reason for it.Go there, for your own sake.
This is one of the places in East Portland where you can get the best deals during dinnertime. My favorite is Katsu; the Panko-breaded chicken or pork filet. Their dinners include miso, salad with one kind of dressing (Thousand Islandish..).Their dinners include several optional choices. My favorite is the additional 3-piece sushi. If you come with a group of 3 or more, you can use the Japanese-style tables. You'll have to take your shoes off... and the waiters (waitresses) will do the same when bringing your orders and drinks.Be ready to spend some time checking out. They're BUSY most nights, especially Friday nights, when all tables get full AND they have a lot of take outs. That shouldn't stop feom experiencing this Japanese bistro.
I have been a regular at Meeka for about 10 years. This is an authentic Japanese dinner in the middle of Rockwood. In parts of the restaurant, you have to take your shoes off to sit down. Sure they don’t have a bidet, but their sushi is fresh and beautifully crafted. The only reason they are receiving a 4/5 star is the fact that they aren’t 100% kid friendly and they are a little on the pricey side. But if you’re looking for real sushi and an amazing dinner experience, then Meeka is worth the drive.
friendly service. Great food.
I love this place, my husband and I come here often. Great food and service 👌
Always the best sushi in town! Great service YUMI!!!
We've eaten in (I love the booth seating) and we've ordered take out. Everything looks fresh and tastes of good quality. We love taking friends here so we can try new rolls. We love the standard California roll and Rainbow roll, but the King Kong is a great finishing roll. The portions and price are just right. Good sushi, but you don't have to break the bank.
This is a good lunch spot, the fish always tastes great and the service is wonderful.
Very comfortable and probably the freshest fish I've ever been served
Very tasty largely sized sushi. Not a conveyor belt sushi place. Know what you want and order. Also not a dollar sushi place. It's worth the extra cost for higher quality sushi
I’ve been to this place several times and loved it, which is why this review is so troubling. This is the only time I placed an order to go, so I sat at the sushi bar and to my horror I saw the following picture of what appeared to be moldy fish still in the sushi bar very close to the salmon they were serving me for sashimi. I tried calling this place to get an email to the owners, but I was told there was none, so I’m sorry but I feel an obligation to post this here. I worry that others may have been served this fish and not have known it was bad.
Affordable and delicious. The lunch combo was way more Sushi then I thought.
I have eaten sushi all over the country and I was told this was THE BEST by the boss... I said "sure, sure". I am an absolute believer! We tried ALL the things (seriously.... ALL!) AND the seaweed salad - fresh, quality, delicious! My new favorite!
There was a bit of a wait, so don't come here starving, but the food was absolutely worth it! The hot tea was delicious as well! Food was beautiful plus they had some very unique and innovative rolls. Will be taking visitors here regularly!
Ordered food to go - everything was delicious and fresh! The tempura was a major highlight.
Great prices, flavorful, and quality! Also very good variety. Definitely my favorite place for sushi! (:
I've been going here for 16 years. Best Sushi I've ever had. I LOVE sushi. If you go here, you will not ne disappointed!
Everything was really great! Salmon was fresh! And a good cut.
Oh my gosh. So good, authentic, fresh. Delivery was prompt and totally worth the few extra dollars over those cheap sushi places. Do it, you won’t regret it. I got the samurai, Portland, and crazy roll, generous portions and made with care.
Good price, variety and portions.
This is some good quality sushi made to order not sitting on a belt. Was surprised at how affordable the menu is differently a must return spot
It was nice to visit a sushi shop so close to our house. I was a bit weary of going here at first, it's tucked away in the corner of a grimey Gresham strip mall that has seen better days. The entrance to the shop has also seem a lot of sun. When we got inside the hostess was genuinely friendly and the décor was neatly and tastefully arranged. We were seated and promptly served the house salad (iceberg with a creamy dressing)along with water as well as a juice for our son. We decided on some veggie tempura to start. The oil used to do fry the tempura was clean and the pieces were generous.
I have been enjoying the sushi at Meeka's for at least 3 years now.The prices are very reasonable and the sushi is fairly high quality.I would have given them five stars but cream cheese seems to be smooshed in every roll. I do like cream cheese... but I also like authentic Japanese sushi. This is a quaint little restaurant with good service I'm always happy when I'm there and when I leave.
Amazing staff and food! I try a different sushi everytime i go! I will return many more times!!
Great food great service and the inside is very nice
i love meekas, i order here A LOT on doordash
Always had good sushi from here, the ingredients are of good quality and always fresh. I've never had to worry about quality of preparation, and the menu has good variety and the combinations of ingredients work well. If you like sushi, you'll find plenty on the menu that is appealing.
Great sushi in a non-fussy casual space. Great price for what you get. Many vegetarian options and everything tempura is lightly breaded (perfect imho) & cooked perfectly.
Super amazing sushi takeout!!!!I ordered the dinner combination, highly recommended for those looking for biggest bang 4 buck like myself, and I chose the 3 item option; the dinner combo already comes with a simple salad, miso soup and a 4 piece cali roll. The three items I chose were Salmon Teriyaki, Gyoza and 3 piece sashimi. They were all incredibly delectable, delicious and to die for. The salmon was nice and moist, the rice below was perfectly cooked. The dressing on the salad was super balanced and was a nice contrast to the salmon. The soup was amazing, lots of depth in the broth. The sushi was nice, it was dry at all which was surprising for it would have sat for a little. Very good gyoza, not too salty, which is what I most often run into.Overall, 10/10 recommend!
Food was about average in quality and taste. Service was slow.
Enjoyed thier Udon noodles.
Meeka makes my favorite sushi! I strongly suggest you try the Meeka 2 and the Oregon roll, sooooo delicious! In my pic its the 2 rolls in the middle.
This place was amazing! I wasnt sure at first cause of the location. But yes it was top notch! Just delicious and great service
